For Public Sector

What are the risks?

The stakes could hardly be higher – if our electricity supply, or our air traffic control, or our hospitals were successfully attacked online, the impact could be measured not just in terms of economic damage but of lives lost.”

The Rt Hon George Osborne – Spending review and Autumn Statement 2015.

The UK Government is firmly behind the push to improve our cyber defences. The UK as a whole can garner strong business advantage from investment in a well-protected cyber space. To that end the Chancellor has agreed a new plan for £1.9 billion cyber investment to keep the country safe from cyber attack.

But UK cyber space is only as strong as its weakest link. The Government wants all UK organisations that use the cyber world for business to improve their posture to information risks. Likewise it is pushing the cyber agenda into central government and the wider public sector.

From our banks to our cars, our military to our schools, whatever is online is also a target.”

The Rt Hon George Osborne – Spending review and Autumn Statement 2015.
