Ascentor commended at DI19 awards

Ascentor’s work around the integration of Information Assurance (IA) into the defence project lifecycle phases has been recognised by the judges at the recent Defence Information conference at STEAM, Swindon, jointly organised by the MOD, Team Defence Information and Cranfield University..

The event is the annual gathering of MOD and Industry to showcase and share bright ideas and collaborative ways of working amongst suppliers, customers and defence users.

The Excellence Awards celebrate innovative activities within a broad scope of ‘demonstrating improvements – or potential improvements – to collaboration across defence’.  Ascentor were awarded a commendation for our IA Inside process – a full lifecycle approach to incorporating Information Assurance into the heart of projects and procurement activities.

The judges recognised that Ascentor’s ‘IA Inside’ concept assists buyers and suppliers address Cyber risks as part of an overall business resilience approach, throughout the procurement lifecycle; thus, making IA holistic, integrated and effective, delivering clear value to the end user and UK taxpayer.

Commenting on the award, Ascentor’s MD Dave James said, “We are delighted with the recognition for Ascentor’s work from our industry peers. Through our experience, working in defence projects and procurement environments, we have often witnessed issues as a direct result of Cyber risk assessment/management being added as an afterthought. That’s why we developed IA Inside, to embed robust risk assessment approaches into supply chains and programme management.”
