We recently competed for the Security Assurance Coordinator (SAC) service to the MOD’s Force Protection Delivery Team under the FATS4 Framework. I am delighted to announce that Ascentor has been selected as the preferred supplier from a field of approximately ten other Information Assurance (IA) consultancies. The contract is for two years and FP-DT can now look forward to delivering current and future Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) and Equipment Program (EP) projects knowing they have a uniquely knowledgeable team of IA experts supporting their procurement and operational support activities.
Ascentor has provided a SAC service to the Force Protection Delivery Team within DE&S at Abbeywood, Bristol for a number of years. Our consultants have developed an in-depth and expert view of the IA challenges for numerous UOR projects relating to countering the Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) threat to UK forces within operational theatres.
As important as IA technical knowledge is, a thorough understanding the MoD environment and building trusted relationships with project stakeholders (including the DSAS accreditor) is equally so. This has been the Ascentor hallmark. We achieve this in part through our military heritage (we have a very strong desire to support the warfighter) but ultimately due to the quality of the advice provided to the project stakeholders. We ensure that information risks are visible and managed. Ascentor has not produced ‘shelfware’. Instead we have made real inroads to ensuring security controls are sensible, realistic and achievable within the UK operational context.
